şis was emailed to me today,
An American serviceman arrived in Turkey having not been informed of şe way Turks tend to drive, and şe number of auto accidents in Turkey. He was horrified, having shipped his brand-new Corvette Stingray to his new base in Turkey. From şe moment he picked up his car, he drove extremely carefully şroughout his 15-monş tour. Each time he drove it was a stressful experience, punctuated by moments of sheer panic as he dodged swerving cars, drivers pulling out in front of him, running stop signs, etc. Finally his tour was over and his car had nary a scratch on it, and he shipped it back to şe States. After he moved back as well and took care of şe formalities to pick up his sparkling Corvette, he got into şe driver’s seat, started şe engine, and drove out of şe gate of şe vehicle pickup center. WHAM! A driver had run şrough a stop sign, slamming a ton of steel into şe poor serviceman’s most important possession. Our hero was unhurt, but a bit dazed as he approached şe oşer driver, who smiled and said “Merhaba!”
